it has come to my attention that jackson guitars are not very popular here. just checking to see if anyone is using a jackson. could you share about your experience(model, pickups, sound etc)?

and also, where do you get jacksons other than swee lee(they have a very limited range)?

I own 1. Jackson Dinky eerie dess swirl. Bought off ebay. When I saw the body paint I knew I had to get it. The pickups I'm using are artec ceramic humbucker, GFS lil killer and Tesla VR-1. Great build, nice neck feel, you get what you paid for. Soundwise can't say much, I have another cheaper guitar and to me both sound equally good. I could have gone for other brands too but personally a jackson is what I really want. Nothing special, just personal preference.

My guitarist uses one, Jackson MG warrior I think, he revels in the fact that it is one of the older out of production models.

mind if i ask how much you got in for? i'm considering getting a dinky.

The neck was from a Jackson warrior but I sold the body away and bought this Dinky, since its body painted it cost more than normal. I got both warrior and Dinky body from ebay. Overall, cost me $900. On a side note, I almost wanna buy an all maple Jackson neck but its too expensive..otherwise would make a sweet guitar visually.

Have owned a Jackson RR3 before, bolt on neck with duncan designed pickups. Pretty decent guitar to play on , nice maple neck but the higher frets are pretty hard to play due to it being bolt on.

Now I'm using a Jackson Kelly Star if that is still considered a Jackson. This one's a neck thru one, very nice guitar to play on. The finished neck might be a hassle for those with sweaty palms and it tends to get sticky some times. Which happens to me...

One problem with the RR3 is that it neck dives and so does my kelly, but not very serious...

jackson

Jacksons are great..charvels are good too. I use it alot. And I am selling the jackson USA custom body, lemee know if you interested.

I've always had the impression that jackson guitars were of higher quality than ibanez guitars, and i do know a couple of guys who play jacksons here who'd tell you they sound awesome. I've personally recorded a few solos with a Jackson RR3 and boy it did sound good.

I just don't like the neck profile, still prefer the Ibanez wizard necks.

thanks for all the comments guys. but does anyone know where to get jacksons other than swee lee (and online of course)

swee lee is the only one that brings in jacksons i think. my bro do own a jackson not sure of what model number it is but its a dinky with H-H set up originally comes with EMGs pups. man very metallish  but i personally don't like it due to its fat neck and heavy body, gosh his one weighs a ton. :???:

jackson rocks!!!!!!! bought it here for $400!! WOHOOOO luv it man...........
thought of changing the pups.... but to what? i play instrumental rock.. recommendations??

Yeah. Swee Lee is the only one bringing in Jacksons here. No idea why they are so unpopular in Singapore. I got my Jackson Kelly KE-3 from Swee Lee too. A transparent blue one. Man... I still remember the first time I saw it. It was like fate brought us together. A well spent $1000... I'll always use a Jackson from now on.

Hmm. Which model are you using and what are the current pickups? As far as I know, different models and year models may have different pickups too.
