It's either my hair or my job

donald trumph and richard branson have pretty long hair and they're running multi-blllion dollar corporations.

Donald Trump's hair is a big mystery to me. I don't know where it starts and where it ends.

watch the golf course episode where his hair flies in the wind and he proudly says "look i can tell people donald trumph has real hair"  extends from the tip of the forehead till the back of the head halfway to the neck..which is pretty long if its let down.

There's a chinese saying " see the person's clothes before serving the person" right? i agree,i am a chinese too,but is it correct morally? or right exactly? u accept everything or u do make a discriminations against "wise" old saying? theres a saying "women and children are small people and hard to rear" so as u can see, both are equally unsubstantiable. So what if this is Singapore? do u have to follow the crowd? do u have to subsribe to notions which inhibits your natural gift including the most basic of your body? the hair? again,i will say..hahaha come on,be Progressive! if you really know what it means,(progressive).

That ain't it, balloon.

Most of Singapore's jobs require guys to have short hair. I'm not talking about discrimination here, and I have absolutely no discriminate against guys with long hair.

I'm talking about how companies require people to have short hair to work. If there's jobs which are risky to your safety if you have long hair so u need to get them cut, it's reasonable.

Don't get why people kept taking my words in a totally wrong direction. Or that people take a (stupidly - no offense intended) offensive move on replying.

I'm trying to say that Singapore is that way, we are made to cut hair in order to be able to get (most) jobs.

I'm not saying this is Singapore, and we are supposed to have short hair cos this is what everyone do, as you are trying to say. This is like stuffing words in my mouth.

i'd say, singapore is still as conservative as its asian roots even though we're trying to change stuffs. i don't know how to put it in words lah.

i'd be more than happy to earn 4.50 bucks per hour though. at least it's the result of my own sweat. hehe.

and back then in school some boys kept complaining on why must they keep their hair short since hair and studies are totally 2 different things and long hair doesn't mean they're not good in studies. but what about in the workforce? i think first impression do really count.

Man, i think having hair like that is nothing to be proud of. Of the gajillion lillion of fortune he has, he can't do something decent with his hair.
Oh, the mind boggles...

Very interesting read.

The hair is all about IDENTITY. Usually, your hair gives people a rough idea of what kind of a person you are, and your personality.

I'm a girl who prefers short hair 'cause it suits my personality. Unfortunately, we still have narrow-minded people who think that girls with short hair are either tomboys, lesbians or butches with no trace of feminity at all. And that's BULLSHIT.

And i guess, both genders inevitably face certain issues when it comes to their HAIR. Just like how a short-haired girl's not necessarily any less feminine (read: ME), a guy who keeps his hair long does not make him any less masculine. 8)

In fact, a guy who keeps his hair long (and healthy) and yet exudes masculine charm would be more impressive than a guy who keeps his hair short "like a man should".

You'll realize how different one can look with two completely different hairstyles. Try this out...when you go out, look at these strangers and imagine them with different hairstyles. Imagine that balding Ah Pek with the signature F4 hairstyle....or imagine that sharp & groomed dude with white balding hair...

So, at the end of the day...it's not bout looking like a man, or looking less of a man. It's about looking the way you want others to see you.

Here's some tips for those guys who regretted cutting their hair short "like a man should" and wanna keep your hair long :

1) Have a weekly scalp massage to provide stimulation to the hair follicles.
This will encourage healthy hair growth.

2) Have regular trims to eliminate split ends and allow the hair to look and feel healthier

3) Invest in good shampoo

4) Invest in hair growth supplements

and if you're born without patience

5) Hair Extensions

No doubt about that. But maybe we should do a poll on this one.
Yeah right, haha!

lol..well, i think if it's $4.50 an hour then you shouldn't cut it..other places that allow you that sort of hair pay the same rate..or higher..truly la..

i'm not saying that long hair is better than short hair..but it's not the 'job of a lifetime'..so there's no point agonizing over it..go confirm another job..then quit this one..

Yes indeed,i am glad some female musicians here look or see beyond the surface of gender identifications with hair-length. As we are moving towards the future,we need to open our mindset. Conforming to hair length just to justify who is a male and female is simple out of date. Now,we have guys putting ear studs to work too.Does it mean they are sissy or gays? We have chinese gals putting nose-studs,are they indian or are they cows? Think about it, simply judging a person before you know how good or wonderful he or she is,well,..that is a superficial mentality. Most of us here are musicians who are striving to be good or taking up as a hobbies.More or less we are artistically inclined, and open-mindedness will serve a purpose in the long run..

agreed... i'm keeping my back long to see how long i can get it in two-three years! (NS is still something u cant run away from)

and yea, hair should not define gender! but of course, some girls should realise that long hair can be more sexy than super-near-crew-cut-short, that's why guy's complain. as for guys, pray that you've got the face that suits long hair =X it's funny how u can walk down orchard and see 30% of the girls have UBER short hair, but only maybe 3% of the guys have hair beyond the shoulder & fringes that could stretch to the nose. this doesnt include the recent "beng" hair styles of having long sprouts that make you look like an anime character. *chokes at the thought*

*** oh and for those wondering why the thread goes on, nitrovo's problem is solved for now, but what happens when he keeps it and it grows back? and what about the other long hair'd dudes out there like me? win the battle, but lose the war?

wait, since he cut his hair, it'd be lose the battle AND the war. :?

:D Thats' cool Crispy Egg,there's another group too,the long haired below the shoulder male musicians too, like kitaro and rockers who have it at waist length.I support your decisions to keep long hair.
Indeed, the world will be too boring if all the girls have long hair and all the guys have crew cut.Let the world be varied with artistical output from individual's character! keep down the long hair! and rock on...dude!

8) haha i'm keepin the back to see how long it can grow until. i dont have the face to keep a full head of long hair, so my sides are short, i.e. if i tie up the long back portion, it looks like a normal short hair cut with very long fringe and a tail.

Whatever style u intend to keep, make it your own, yeah? your style is your own..Nature has implanted hair on your head and if for once in your life,u can keep it very long or long, why not do it? Live Life,dude.. :P
