Is Yamaha Tyros good?

I am pretty attracted to Tyros...its so nice! but you think its worth it? or should i just get a synthesizer...

Depends on:
1. what you want to use it for
2. your budget

If after you play around with it and liked it, think it suits your needs, then OK to get it.

I still thinks it depends on the user's needs. Price may not differ much - but one may prefer to use a keyboard fowith all those build-in rhythms and accompaniments. Synth only useful for the seasoned player who knows how to use it - it may have better sound and few other features but does not have auto-accompaniment. Synth and portasounds are 2 different classes of keyboards. Choice should be made on functions and needs, not just cost.

trend

this seems to be the trend,
musicians are using them for 2-3 pieces band.

Although I like Roland products, the entry-level keyboards with built-in accompaniment type seems to favour Yamaha in terms of functions. Roland has better sounds, but Yamaha has more variations to their accompaniments. And their style files (sty files) are customisable with a computer (free software available).
