Is there an age limit to start playing the guitar

:lol:Other than women having a certain age limit where it becomes risky to give birth, no one is too old for anything. Challenge the conventions, I say. Too young, yes...some things, but not guitar (as long as they have enough strength to pick up one). That's in theory tho. Shredcow is right. <6 they won't pay that much attention to you anyway.
Back to the point tho...how old is old exactly? 80? If you're nimble enough to type, should be ok to pick up the guitar. Unless you aspire to be Paul Gilbert in like the next 2 years....

Just do what you think makes you happy 
you are never too old to learn anything. Though I started playing the guitar at 12 and I am 43 now , I am still learning lots of new stuffs from the younger players here.

I am sure it will be ok after a while, you might feel embarassed in the beginning but it will be ok once you make friends in the class I am jamming with 16 to 19 yr old kids in jam studio . Just enjoy yourself learning or playing music.

My Dad used to be more of a strict rythym guitarist /Lead Vox since he was young, but he picked up lead playing recently now that he has just retired..
He's quite decent so I think its never too late to learn I guess. ANd he is close to 57
