I'm not backing Gibson or anything..I own an SG and the g-string can't stay in tune at all
so I swore off getting another Gibson.

However, I played a friend's Gibson Smartwood LP during an impromptu jam session at his
studio one night and I was fuckin blown away. Satin finished. Made me re-think my whole
"not gonna buy another Gibson".

But that was before I got myself an 80's Greco LP.

it just goes to show that some anomalies tend to demerit the brand name too much. if it's a bad guitar, it's a bad guitar regardless of the brand name.

the G-string not staying in tune is a common problem with angled headstock guitars etc la.
a simple lube job on the nut solves it.

well u must be doing something wrong somewhere.
cos i got 4 gibson SGs...and none of them have tuning issues.
