Is something wrong?

Everytime I plugged my amp with my bass, if I put it in low volume, it will not have a "ringing" sound.
However if I turned it slightly higher, around half of the volume, it will start to "ring".
And it will only stop when I touch the strings. So is something wrong?
Or isit normal? =x
Thanks a lot.

its probably a ground problem. but i got a feeling that its a amp grounding issue rather than a bass grounding issue. for this you need to use a 3-pin plug to connect the amp to the wall socket.

the ones used for the PSU's of computers will work. if you can't find one, you can mod the cable you are using now. there is a sticky guide in the Gear-Guitar forum that you can check out

I'll guess the 'ringing' is feedback. Are you too close to the bass amplifier?

If it's grounding problem, you'll hear humming/buzzing.

Hum

Sounds like grounding issues, though I'm sure it's hum and not ring. If your bass rings, then I'm sure someone's telephoning you. hur hur.
