Is music creator 3 good?

cubase and cakewalk (sonar) is known for its sequencing.
should be okay as long as you're comfortable with it..

Yes. I still keep the old acid pro 4 and the not so new band in a box.
For vocal recording I still like adobe audition.
Right now I just want to move to cw music creator 3.
Just for music arrangement (sequence) purpose.

oh yes i have to say something too. regarding DAW, well like what i say in my previous post use something that is comfortable. HOWEVER, there are still other softwares that offers more controls and versitilty for you to sequence, and might make sequencing a more easy process, therefore costing more.
some major DAW people use will be, logic pro(MAC) duendo(PC) cubase(BI) Protools(the industry standard BI) Digital Performance(MAC) sonar(PC). most people would generally use one of these sequences. do look them up in google :]

i will reccomend cubase in your ersion, comes with alot VST insturments. you can record audio into cubase too, its a good DAW, but the current version 4 is damn buggy. I'm using (cakewalk) sonar 6 prod. edition btw, awesome program, i'll be sticking to sonar unless i switch to mac! hahaha..if i switch to mac i would wanna try digital performer or logic.

LOL...The problem now are Im still using an old low end pc. Athlon Xp. Haha. Though mc3 are sufficient...But multitrack playing I don't think it can support. Right now even using adobe audition got some freeze. I wonder is it the headphone that trigger it. Or soundcard going to hospital, psu not power enough...
I haven't really touch on band in a box further.

Im not a theory person. I does it by ear, feel and auto fingers at the right note.

What are the specs of your PC? For simple sequencing and arrangements (using external sounds and not VST), you can go with relatively low spec PC. Make sure you have ASIO drivers installed (if not, download ASIO4all). RAM is also important - see if you can upgrade it.
My old PC - P3 933MHz with 512MB RAM can run at least 4-6 multitracks and can run full 160 polyphony with Gigastudio. Key is to make sure it is optimised. If you are doing recording or sampling, an extra HD can be helpful.

I seldom use vst. Either use the soft synths and the effects, or loops... Plus mess it around with my midi keyboards. And I don need to do professional vocal recording. Just a simple vocal will do. Studio can do all that.
My specs are slightly higher than you but less than 2 GHZ. Could do 4-5 tracks with acid.
But it may be demanding in mc3. That why I haven't got the sw.

Softsynths comes in VST or other plug-in formats. So the idea is the same - if you use lots of plug-ins, your CPU will be taxed. Effects are also plugins.
But with 2GHz, you should be able to get around with most things. I don't see a big problem at all. Also remember that plugin softsynths (VST or otherwise) come in different shape and sizes - some will tax the CPU more than others.
The main thing is that your PC MUST be dedicated to only using music software and optimised. If you use IE, Microsoft Office, games etc with it, it wouldn't work. With all these removed and running ONLY music applications, your machine can handle more than you think - DAW-wise. And as we have discussed this extensively in many previous threads, you don't have to get a new PC to get your PC dedicated to music software. You can dual boot your current PC.
