...you know, its like a tranny. you can change everything but then its not gonna be the real thing !

lol. true. but my warwick is meant to be active! watch out bro! haha

bin4christ: passive basses are usually more 'vintage' sounding though this is not always true. they generally have less output and sounds 'raw'. active tones on the other hand is more coloured and cleaner. it'll also have a lot more output cos its powered by a battery.

it's only a rough explanation but u can always read up more abt it.

cheers

it can be anything you want it to be. but generally, for modern rock genres, it's good to have an active bass. but it really is up to you and your ears for wad u want in your own bass.

yea man. if you're lazy to get the right tone out of a active bass, advisable to get a passive one. wahaha. like me. =x but having an active bass means having higher output level and having more control over the tone you wan. =D

hmm you might as well buy an active instead..save all the trouble and extra cost.

Because thats where all the fun is bro! Playing bass is half the fun... PLAYING AROUND is the other half ;)

Love 4-strings, love p-basses, love j-pups in the bridge, love the geddy-looking fretboard.
