Cos maybe when I'm bored with the colour or smth I would like to change my Black Squire HSS strat to a Red pickguard and black knobs, pickup selector. So will it still sounds the same though change the accesories only. To what I thought in order to tke off the pickguard you goto cut the wire and some technical stuff.. so will the guitar still sounds as good?

if the resoldering of parts and all are done properly, there should be none, if nto very minimal difference in tone to your guitar. :D

I changed my knobs from the stock bell shape to black speed knobs and my guitar sounds tons better...

Lol. J/k.....ing.

This reminds me of that will pasting stickers affect the tone thread.................here we go all over again.

hah dude..........metal knobs, wooden knobs, brass knobs, nickel plated, gold plated,........copper shielded pickguard, aluminium shielded,.......leather pickguard, acrylic, pvc...........everthing will affect your tone!!!!..but the thing is..............................................................................................................

......................................can you hear it???? cos i can't.

About shielding... changed from stock paint shielding to aluminium shielding... man... the tone DID change. Didn't like it. Scrapped off all the alum.

lol........if the cavities arent shielded with shielding paint i use copper sheets! ......cos dont know where to get shielding paint :(

it has been proven that leaving the tag on your guitar will make it sound better. and don't let other people point or even look at your guitar, cause it will make it sound worse.

can you hear the sustain?

I left the tag on my guitar once, for a gig.

I'll never gig without a tag.

Plus, I found, if the tag is reused? The power multiplies exponenially.

absolutely....changing to all natural wooden knobs allows your guitar to "breathe" better...dont tighten the set screw too much though it will constrict the tone...

i have a crappy squire stratocaster made out of some plywood or something i dunno and it sounds like chicken scratching when i play. But one day i decided to draw some stuff on it using my RED permanent marker and omgwtfbbq it sounds like a Gibson Les Paul Custom '32 now...

to my ears anyway.

I pasted stickers on my guitar one day when I thought it looked dull.....

it instantly changed to a bag of peanuts

what you need to do, really, is install a klon centaur into the guitar. you really need it, i dont see why everyone doesnt do it. cos it really improves the tone of your guitar by leaps and bounds.

i know of a friend who has done it.. he did a recording on soundclick, and a few days later, he gets contacted by universal records! The guy wants to sign him on! No joke. He tells me that, the guy is really impressed by his tone! Even though his guitar was a cheapo epiphone lp he got 2nd hand at 300 bucks! That investment was worthwhile.

I encourage everyone to follow in his footsteps.

tone fer dayz..
