Guys, there is a guy selling an epiphone lespaul standard limited edition which is made in korea for $400.. i dono if i shld buy it... is the price too expensive?? pls help me...

Check for the neck, see if its relatively straight. Check for fret buzz or any frets lifting off the fretboard. I think it's a good price for a MIK.

really.. i thought its rather ex... cause many of my friends sae when its stil available.. it was lik onli 500-600

ohz.. okok thankx.. but issit possible if aft getting it.. i sell at a higher price.. after cleaning up.. doing the necessary of cuz...

That particular guitar i tink was selling for ard 700ish when it came out. Dun tink epi made anymore of those and nowadays they are china made.

its a good deal.. does it come with a hard case?? ciel is correct, these days, the epi's are usually china made.. basically, check if the neck has warped, the straightness, bad cracks on the body and the neck join as well... check there are no bubbles on the neck joint and that it is evenly attached..

ehhh ash... unless ur superman and have xRay eyes.. please tell me how u check if there are bubbles in the neck joint??

If you think the korean one is expensive, you need more than twice teh amount for a japanese one and the japanesse one are over priced due to collector demand in my opinion. Just check the guitar out for all you know it might be a good buy.

by checking for bubbles, i meant bubbles at the join area.. bubbles usually means it wasn;t joined properly..

i seriously dun understand what you re talking abt? Bubbles at the joint area? It prolly means the laqueur wasn't applied properly wat bubbles are you talking abt?

care to enlighten me? im confused abt what your trying to describe.

Hi RazrAsh,

I understand what you mean, it's coz the air/gap that is in the joint expands and hence the tiny bubble is formed.

but somtimes bubbles appear not because it was not join properly but because air within the pores in the wood is expanding.

i don think u should judge whether a guitar is expensive by where it is made.. u should judge it piece by piece.. furthermore, since u're getting a 2nd hand, all the more u should look at it for wat it's worth not where it's made.. i wouldn't condemn all the MICs or MIKs neither would i look up to all the MIJs blindly.. think about it..

actually, if the action is low, the its inevitable that there is buzz on some frets right?

i got ripped off when i sold my fender cos i just got it set up low and the guy who bought it complained that there was buzz.

too bad i didn't know enough back then

Its fret rattle. Metal frets with metal strings: will have rattle. If it don't come out of the amp, its fine. But too much rattle, can choke a string. And even more rattle = buzz outright.
