i just honestly hope metal doesnt become a trend in singapore. cos most pple nowadays cant think for themselves so they listen to wat every1 else is listening to. id rather just a few pple learn how to appreciate it. im a metal fan myself but i hail from the side of metal where shred is a must.

Basically guys, if MTV wants us to come on tehir show, we are gonna go. We are not goign to act a certain way, we are not going to say and not say certain things. Thats our attitude to shit..if they want us to come, tehy will get us, not happy happy friendly us on a nice paycheck.

Partially true, bt i say therez no real metal except for Heavy Metal bcoz itz the Father of all Metal. Im a death metal guy bt i wont call death superior to black or heavy or whatevr holy shit. Though i'd say fuck off to new evolution such as metalcore n nu metal, i have learnt to respect these new stuff bcoz itz the result of creativity n originality.

im trying to be a metal guitarist hopefully be a good one in future...still learning....but im like also very confused at times...like i have a band...its a very newbie one...im the only 1 wit my instrument for 4yrs but i never got to learn it seriously then...but recently started to become hardcore abt it...so anyways my band doesnt do metal...but their my frens...and i wanna be part of it...im afraid my influences of metal music mite show off in the band and thus make our songs sound...off....any advice from u guys of what i should do? thanks

Like..dude?!? Hahah..u sound like me a yr back. When i started out in a band as a guitarist my sole drive was metal bt the rest of my band members were more to punk, though we did have one thing in common - we liked metallica, thtz all, one of them only knew metallica frm the metal category :lol: My lead vox/rhythm guitarist at tht time. Everytime he wanted me to learn a new song, i'l like not learn tht bt rather use my time to learn the nxt solo frm iron maiden or metallica. This got heavily struck upon, & a few mths later, me & my bassist quit Yeah we were the only metalfans in the band. So my advice is, remain friends bt get a new band if u reli wanna play metal. Bt the thing is, metal or not, we r all musicians. If u plan to go metal all the way, i'd advise u to NOT stick to it all the time, & be versatile when ur alone at hm w/ ur guitar. In order to achieve a great deal as a guitarist/musician, u need to know other stuff too, despite being a "metalhead". Meddle w/ blues, classical, jazz, punk once in a while. U can stay away frm punk or emo hahahahah no offence, bt nvr stay away frm blues n classical. Ok this is long. Whoa i must reli have nothing to do on the computer ey? :drinkers:

Mr. NOOB... as my friend quite rightly said, we dont judge anyone like that... and i just wanted to say, why would you be acting like some smart ass just because you were ASSUMING that we thought that? how can you judge US on something as sceptic as your assumptions? it's kinda hypocritical no?...
