ok the beginners unite seemed to take off pretty well. so why not make a intermediates unite. lets combine whatever we know and form this pool of knowledge we can all draw from. :)

I dunno if I'm an intemediate or a beginner , haha but I do wanna learn more stuff too and other people's style of playing.

I'm currently taking lessons outside too.

just wondering

is there any good video lesson involving triplets.. i find it hard to execute cleanly and usually miss out notes... any tips/tricks for proper execution..

somethin like this lick..

I saw one of my guitar mates do this. I'm not really that good. so i quote from him. play with a slow bpm then keep up the pace. get to know the finger placing, get use to it then slowly go faster. left and right hand coordination.

intermediates unite?? HMMMMMMMMMM

Okay, so basically got 3 string sweeps down already, so now I would like to get some tips on how to execute 5 strings this time. Besides rapid finger rolling, I also palm down those unwanted notes after I've picked, which helps me to execute a clean three stringer. Somehow it doesn't really work on 5 strings.

Oh yeah, how do I also go about executing tremolo sweeps? A tremolo sweep is when you shift from one arpeggio to the other in 2 motions. Like for example I will sweep down a D Major Arpeggio and sweep up to an E minor Arpeggio. Any tips on how to sweep 'em cleaner?

Thanks! Haha hopefully for this thread there will be a gathering for this like I did for the beginners.

Cheers ;)

for me its always easy to pick upwards during a sweep...
to execute the hammer-ons at the end of the sweep is kinda tricky, coz my pinky will either slipped (produce a muted sound) or fret on the wrong note...

its been a while for me to nail down the 5 string sweeps coz of the upstrokes and the hammer-ons especially on the top string with the pinky..

btw, wat is tremolo sweeping.. do u have any video reference on this technique?

Argh I can't seem to find any videos sorry..

But heres how it looks like in tab form..

This is a tremolo sweep from an A minor to a D minor

----------------8h12/17p13------------------------
------------10--------------15---------------------
---------9---------------------14------------------
-----10---------------------------15---------------
-12----------------------------------17------------
---------------------------------------------------

What happens is that when you sweep down the A minor arpeggio, your pinky which has already hammered on onto the 12 fret will slide to the 17th. You will then pull off from the 17th to your index finger which is on the 13th fret and sweep up the D minor.

Hopefully I've managed to explain it properly.

aww damn...and i thought i was intermediate. looking at the stuff discussed here, i think i'll go to the beginners section and look ard :P

anyway, i was thinking more along the lines of the chords that always make my head spin such as the 6th, 9th, 13th, and sus chords. anyone care to shed some light on this types of chords??

Would I be considered intermediate? Been playing for several years and have performed live several times so far. But I still think I'm pretty sucky.

cannot find videos? look at neil zaza's video, this is his signature way of improvising he loves to do this kind of stuff

LOL WTF SIA

I think for now I'll just stick to 5 string arpeggios lol. Maybe I'll do this some time later

Hahaha yeah true but I'm just your average metal guitarist, there's nothing really special about me. I'm abit of a mindless shredder sometimes lol.
