Interesting experience at O'lando Jamming Studio

I was out jamming with 2 friends and my band's singer, more of a fun thing, and singer dude and I were butchering hysteria (turning it metal). Then some random dude called wei jie(was it?) came into the studio and asked to play bass for us, then we were like ok! It was pretty damn surreal, anybody ever had a similar experience.

edit: eh if you're the dude, post here!

isn't that where we jam all the time?

..

oh yeah it is

no similiar experience, but its the place where i jam with hydrofly's band till this very day.

Well, mine's somewhat opposite of what happened to you guys.
During the early days of jamming, my band used to jam at Boons. And one fine day, some metal heads came in and said "Eh hi, can my friend jam with you guys?" so we were like uhh ok? At that time, i was the only guitarist in the band so the other amp was available and my band played Blink182's stuff. And on that day, we decided to jam Dammit which is one of Blink's easiest songs. So we showed him the tabs and all and told him the tempo but when we started playing, he was like playing clean out of a Roland Jazz Chorus off beat and 'headbanging' for 2 seconds before pausing to look at the tabs again and carry on 'headbanging' for another 2 seconds.
So apparently, he's some loser from St Andews (I asked my brother who studied there at that time) and he followed his metalhead friends to jam but couldn't play or something like that. Could like tell that they treated him as a joke. But he kinda was one anyway.

kerplunk> yuck i wouldn't have that around my jams. Probably gonna ask the guy to chip in with the jam $$ or something, but gatecrashers just suck...

My band stopped going to Boons after the man himself came in one day with a pair of scissors and cut our cables in half during our jam :P

I don't know whether that was pleasant or not, but it's definitely surreal LOL

Ey? What backstory?

Nothing man, we were just playing too loud, and he warned us prior to it... but we can't help it lah :( my drummer plays loud so we had to even the volume up with the guitars, and my keyboardist had to even her volume up for the leads, and I had to even the volume up with vox, then.... *snip* LOL That was a good 3-4 years ago....

I suck shit at remembering faces man! Not very tall, apparently he's a guitarist not a bassist, ack but at least he's not like the guy kerplunk ran into! He can play some stuff pretty well!

Sage: Yeah, we split the jam money with that dude. OMG. Imagine if you guys were using like freaking expensive cables like George L's or Mogami or something. And he snipped it off. :O:O:O
Maybe next time bring a soldering iron and when he cuts your cables, solder the plug back and carry on jamming. Whee~

i would say no and close the door , same goes out to people who don't bring guitars and equipment during gigs and expect to borrow .

"My band stopped going to Boons after the man himself came in one day with a pair of scissors and cut our cables in half during our jam :P"

What???! Did you make him pay for the cables? That has to rate as criminal misdemeanor of some sort.

Hmm...

Many many years back when Far East Plaza had a jammin studio, my groups of friends and I were jammin at that particular studio (cant remember the name though but its opp the mak cik's food stall).

So were happily jammin away to some ol sch GnR (maybe that time it wasnt ol sch yet and I was playin the drums y'all!~) when this 2 chicks (they were definately cute too from what I can recall) just went inside, took the chairs and sat down throughout the session!

Being very shy guys back then, we were just dumbstrucked by their presence in the studio. All that were said were "hey gerls..." and "hi... u guys r not bad.." and we continued jammin the whole way. After the session, the girls just said "see u boys around" and left, while we were still quite pleasantly shocked by that experience.

Ahhh... The innocence times...

wah Cavett...you missed it all
could have been more then just jamming you know..haha.

the most funny thing happened in my studio years back,
A teen couple came up to my studio and said that they wanted to jam.
so,in they went.i was getting quite a funny feeling inside as i did not hear anything at all for about 1/2 hr.
went to take a peek through the windows and saw the lights were off...slowly opened the door and lo and behold,i found them to be sitting on the floor in each other`s arms..they were quite shocked to see me and i told them that they had 1/2 hr left and closed the door..
haha..i could not help laughing to myself...Anyway,within 15mins they came out and went off..that really was funny
