Looking for like-minded people to organize the above-mentioned right here in Singapore.
The late Ronnie James Dio (born Ronald James Padavona; July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010) has rocked our world for more than 40 years, and has influenced many rockers. He was the one who inspired many a young person to sing rock music. Personally, I know more songs sung by Dio than by any other person alive.
I'm looking at a free-for all concert, no tickets, as his achievements and songs should be able to be celebrated by all, but if not, maybe a nominal entry fee may be possible to cover administrative costs.
If anyone knows of anybody who can sponsor the venue and equipment, I'll be glad to organize.
We can tie in with commercial companies for sponsorship also. Anyone else with organizing experience and is interested in going ahead with this endeavour can kindly contact me too.
Interested bands who wish to perform may also submit to me their contact info along with some info about your experience and if possible, a video or 2 of your performances.
Please note that if I'm unable to get a venue and equipment, then the concert is a no-go.
The aim of this concert will be to celebrate the life and songs of Ronnie James Dio, so all bands must play only songs sung by Dio when he was with Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath or Dio, even maybe some of his obscure songs when he lent his voice for Roger Glover's concept album. Anything sung by Dio is fine.
