Installation of Pickguard affects sound?

Hi guys. I just bought a Takamine G series A/E yesterday. Solid cedar top and solid sapele sides and back. It doesn't come with a pickguard installed. I'm thinking of mounting a pickguard on it. How do I go about doing it? Will the material I use to stick the pickguard to the body affect the sound? Any good advice is appreciated. Thanks

why stick the pickguard? cannot drill holes and screw the pickguard in meh?

The normal self adhesive pick guards are commercially available...or if you are adventureous, get the clear pick guard material from stewart Mac and "custom" cut your own design...

will hardly affect tone at all.....

Just buy those adhesive based pickguards and stick em on.

I'm sure if you shop around at peninsula guitar shops you may find something like it.

There are transparent types as well.

Hmm.

you could always go to Artfriend and get some acrylic, get a shop to do a shape for you and ask them to paint it for you (if you want some fancy design).

I'll just be the guy who helps you do your design is all :wink:
