In Ear Monitors or Noise cancelling monitor headphones

Basically in my tiny jamming room, i cant hear myself, so to say in tune i thought id hook up a headphone monitor with noise cancelling ability so i could keep track of my vocals.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a decent one my budget is like 300 dollars.

if your budget is 300 bucks you can consider shure in ears such as e2c for 150 bucks or e3c for 300 bucks

sound quality is amazing!

Phanto, if you cant hear yourself, that means your band member is playing TOOOO loud. balance the level among the band first.

this will be good foundation for future performance because you will be to used to listening to each other and keeping the groove.

let the front of house sound engineer decides how loud to fill the room. you guys just concentrate on the sound balance on stage.

i agree to that let your sound engineer do his job and you will know what he can give you a nice and powerful drum with is not sharp and the kick+toms wont be so dead:)

Let the kick kick:)

well budget 300 ? well shure's e2c and e3c is nothing compared to westone UM1. haha 160. for the quality of E3c ? i'll never pay that kinda price. anyway shure's earpiece tend to spoil much faster. well is a in ear monitor enough ? or you need a headphone amp as well? anyway i suggest that in ears are better. most pros use in ear. not Headphones. cause its bulky la. 160 for the monitor and 100 for a cheapo mono headphone monitor

maybe this ... as the in ear amp from aux . =) i planning to get one. if you want one as well we can bulk order.. haha =) save cost..

I'm using the Etymotic ER6i (they are basically the same as my earplugs) and having tested them in my also tiny jamming room with full drumset, guitar (2x 60w amps) and PA system (for vocals), i can say they can be heard over all the volume. Not sure how loud the volume was cos I can't adjust the volume on my pocket metronome. But as a guide it was pretty loud, so much so that it kinda hurt after a while.

But seriously, you should be able to hear the other instruments if the volumes are balanced correctly and you have the amps, speakers, etc angled properly. I play the drums and I can still hear my bro's guitar very clearly (he outputs his guitar to 2 amps, one directed towards him, one towards me).

I only tried the noise cancelling function once, and i'm astounded, it's really SILENCE, not even hissing or sibilance... I have the UM1, but i think IEMs are more for noise isolation + music listening, it just feels and sounds weird wearing IEMs for silence only.
For this case, maybe a noise cancelling headphone is a better choice, with detachable cables when all u need is silence, with a more natural space between ur ears and the outside world. bluetin http://bluetin.com/stores/singapore/shop.html is selling at $291 with no gst, or u should be able to try it at jaben in adelphi or stereo electronics in causeway point. Both shops also have IEMs from shure (e2cs, e210s etc), westone (um1 um2 etc), livewires (custom iems with better isolation and comfort), ultimate ears (super-fi etc) alot more!
