Impact of Air-Con on your guitar

Hmm,I wanna know. What's the impact of leaving your air-con on while your guitar is exposed on a stand?
In my case, what's the pros/cons when my Les Paul sits on a stand in the corner of the room, while I leave my air-con on for 8-10 hours.Like, what happens to a guitar when you leave it on the stand, not directly under the air-con but with your air-con turned on while you sleep at maybe 26 degrees?
Asking out of curiosity because I thought I'd find threads about this but when I searched S.O.F.T...there's only topics about dehumidifying, which I really had no idea what it was about.

Edit:Ok,I also want some opinions on a scenario like this - You play your guitar. You stop playing. You put it on a stand. And it stays there for pretty much the rest of the day.At night, you turn on your air-con when you're going to sleep. Then of course, the next day, this cycle repeats itself. Is there any harm/precautions I need to take with such a scenario?Am I damaging my guitar in anyway?Because I'm considering not using the gig-bag I purchased my guitar with already ever since I got my guitar stand yesterday.Seems abit troublesome to keep it in the bag when if it's safe,I can just leave it on the stand the whole time.

Well if u leave ur guitar in an airconditioned room and then bring it outside the room where the temp is normal room temp, then theres gonna be condensation on ur guitar. Which i guess is nt good for ur guitar. But its good if u leave it in an airconditioned room and never take it out, coz of singapore's humid weather. Keeping it in an airconditioned room keeps the humidity low, but thats only if u got the $$ to keep ur aircon running 24/7. Just my 2cents

Hmmm sounds reasonable. But what about like what I mentioned in my first post. What if my air-con is turned on for let's say like 8 hours, then after that I off, then the cycle repeats itself on a daily basis. All this time my guitar's in my room, but I think what you say about condensation will come into play right?Cos' 8 hrs of air-con and suddenly, you get the morning hots.

im pretty sure that as long its not a very sudden change in temp, it should be ok? anyway 26deg is not really considered cold i guess. shouldn't be a prob.

my 1cent

for electric guitars, it's probably just going to result in rusty strings, oxidising frets and hardware, which imho is still not a very nice thing to have on a guitar.

for acoustic guitars, the effect of exposing the guitar to open air or flunctuating temperature and condensation is more serious, particularly for solid wood, as the may swell and causes changes in the action, and might result in a detached bridge, and etc.

i will still suggest keeping a guitar in the bag when not in use.

As long as its not one extreme to the another it is fine. My room temperature is below 20 when heater is off but it’s around 28 when heater is on at night time. Guitars are not that fragile :)

Woah...you got a cool room man.My room is so hot throughout the morning-afternoon.
Yeah,I also thought that guitars quite solid. But now come across so many issues that make me worry, don't know whether unneccessarily - First, something about what neck will warp. The next day,I went to get a guitar stand from SV guitars. Then, this issue about air-conditioning.

why do u worry about such a small thing like this? the worst that could happen is that ur aircon leaks onto ur guitar/power strip and short circuits the whole thing . ( happened to me).

wth?? i'm sure guitar shops leave their aircon on 24/7. they have the ac on for the day and switch everything off through the night. same shit what. common sense lah.

string oxidation will only happen due to contact with the moisture from your hands when playing. wiping down after play is obviously the #1 rule of guitar maintenance. many string sets that you buy are not completely sealed when packed, yet they don't corrode. again, common sense.

in our climate there is nothing to worry about. the only cause for concern is when the climate becomes very very dry. air con is not capable of making the air dry to that extent. (fear of wood drying out and cracking)

when i visited the ishibashi's, music vox, ochanomizu stores in japan during winter 2008, dryness was a problem so they placed humidifiers everywhere in the store. those machines that you see blowing out water vapour. again, unless your air con or the weather in singapore for that matter reaches temperature close to zero, i don't think its an issue.

Nothing serious, just don't suddenly bring it out and allow water to condense.
Especially after you just woke up and the guitar has been exposed for hours.

I usually just leave the guitar in a hard case. At least if I bring it out for jamming, it has some time to warm up.

If left in the room, when you turn off the air con, the gradual increase in temperature and humidity won't really cause any problems.

I agree. Guitars aren't that fragile. We should be concerned about it but shouldn't be fussing over it like a mother hen. Pay 500 bucks for something that's gonna spoil just cause you turned on an aircon?! Not gonna happen.

i dont see any problem with leaving your guitar like this. i do it too and so far there's no issue for the past few years.

guitar shops display their guitar in air-con room maybe 24/7 for months before someone buy it .so i don't see any problems with it

hey i just signed up and im kinda interested in getting a tele.
btw did the tele in ur avatar come painted like that or did you custom it?
i basically plan on getting an electron blue telecaster but in case they dont sell it just wanna find out about custom painting.
