is it just me, or is everyone else afraid and paranoid that the screws that the strap connects to will be torn out when moving around.

I mean you see those hardcore bands when they swin their guitars all over the place, but what about headbanging and that when you just go nuts and move around everywhere.

I'm just so afraid the screws, esp the bottom one will be torn out by the weight of the guitar or something.

Happened to mine before... The top screw... But that electric I had was lousy one... In the end, I used SUPERGLUE and set the screw back, the thread in the wood is already goneds...

what people commonly do is to remove the original strap pin, put a tooth pick or half a tooth pick in, super glue that in place, wait for it to dry and then screw your strap button on. makes it quite solid.

Some to prevent the strap from coming loose paste masking tape. I know Vai drills deeper for his nuts for his EVO...

becareful when doing that... after u screw tooooooo deeeeeep ur guitar wood split and crack...

I did that with my old strat copy. the nut just slipped right out when playing so i put a bigger one in and spit the wood. was still pretty stable though.

if you scared... buy strap locks....

strap locks prevent the strap coming off the button, but not the screw/button coming out of the guitar, which can happen even with strap locks.

a slightly longer screw should help,i also put a small amount of loc-tite on the threads of the screw. some good quality duct tape acts as a workable strap lock as well..

i play pretty violently and have never had a strap come off onstage..touch wood

no way you can prevent it from happen....
but for contigency plan you can do a" double strapping"

Meaning?

at both end install another set of strap lock/nut at lower position .

of cos your strap had to be punch with extra holes.

the key point is here,..,...

hang it loose for the second one..
