So I was deciding to get a RBX374 from yamaha.
Do you think its worth it?
I'm just a begginer and you can say, I know NOTHING about bass.
I don't know tabs or chords.
Cause I don't play the guitar, and which amps would you reccomand me to get?
Thanks :)
I was also kinda interested in the ibanez brand of basses.
Which bass should I get? ><

Yamaha bass are well known...though not the RBX series but the BBs and TRBs..

I suppose u like the design of the RBX...

I suggest you go Davis and try out their LTD basses(not SX)before you decide....cheap and good for beginners....

Perhaps you can consider getting any of those bass beginner packages that are available... includes bass, amp, cable etc. everything you will need. some may even include pick, but that's a small issue.

can consider the fender squire packages, i think yamaha has that on sale. everything in should cost a few hundred bucks only. Ibanez had a bass beginner pack also, with the ibanez GSR. not sure if swee lee still has it?

and i suggest you also think about the kind of music you'll be playing, and the role you'll be playing in a band ( i assume you will want to play in one eventually ^.^) Not everyone is suited for playing bass... just like not everyone likes to play electric guitar :)

I am new to bass too. One difference is I play the guitar, not that very good though. Its self taught.

I have been fascinated by the bass sound. When I listen to a song, especially those pop the bass really add flavor and sensation to the music. I can't imagine listening to a song minus the bass.

I started 2+ months ago, attended a few private lessons, bought a bass guitar and amps. Bass guitar is a J&D Brother for $250. I have 3 amps now. 1st started with a 300 watts Ashdown intended for jamming session with my in laws. Later find it a waste of power during my practicing at home, so bought a small Ebanez 20 watts Sound Wave. It serve me well.

Later my playing seem to stagnant at a level. A thought came to me, maybe if I upgrade my bass guitar it may improve my playing. I have checked out some higher end bass like Fender Precision, Fender Jass, Fender Jaguar, Gibson T-bird 4 etc. Then as I was surfing the net I came across a Fender B-DEC 30 which they claimed packed with features which I can't resist, it teach as well as improve playing. I am quite happy with it as I learn & play along the many midi music that came with it. I am not trying to promote it but trying to share my experience.

So I think it all boil down to what you want and budget. 2 sen.
