if i organised a vocalists hangout...

if it's organized properly, i don't mind really. too many screamers, these kids throwing their life away. how to sing to fiance` in the future

I'm a definite maybe! If I can organize child-care then I will be there. I think it's a great idea!

Great I'll keep it in mind, maybe sometime in March or such, after my gigs bowl over
I think it ought to be interesting, I'll keep you guys informed :D

And I'll bring the chips!

So which Kbox outlet will we be going to?

Kekekekekeke...

Just kidding...

Now got reputation system. So must be a bit more careful with what I say.

I am interested...

zahiron, pls do not mix up screaming and growling. Screaming is out of control. Growling is with control. im up for the vocalist hangout. go sleazy ktv ah! hehehehe

where where where

Okies I've been thinking of a place, and I came up with a couple of ideas:

1 - vocalist picnic at the beach or something, so that we can hear each other on natural sound first and maybe learn how to sing in open environments.. we can bring our kapoks along and can bring our own food and drinks that you feel has been helping your voice too, that'll be awesome :D i'll bring my honey. i'm quite liking this idea from the latter

2 - KTV to mic control... but it's generally smokey, too cramped (i gather there's going to be a bunch of us) and the mic and system's all wired up to sound good anyway so our voices are gonna be quite artificial. Plus it's loud, so I don't know how we could discuss things. Maybe after the picnic or something?

Urgh times like this I wish I had a bigger house.

I'm also wondering whether we can have a tour-visit to esplanade's concert hall. Last I performed there, they had great mics, great sound engineering, and god it is a LOVELY place to hear excellent acoustics. It was really an experience, and I haven't found anywhere else here with acoustics like that. We can play around with dynamics and hearing out natural reverbs and see how it changes our voices. No growling here k?? LOL Anyways,
I'd have to check on this first though, whether it's allowed in the first place...

Otherwise, safe bet, i'll just open like a picnic - bbq thingy then just pop by lah. :)

ThoughtS?

Will do, I'm actually quite amazed at the response lol. After my gigs k!!

Personally, I think it'd be a good idea to gather casually first over evening drinks at some quiet, relaxed joint like maybe somewhere in Rochester Park or something similiar.

I guess the objective is to discuss and share your experience and tips eh. So, maybe a BBQ where you have to buy food, tend to the BBQing, a bit too distracting. Somemore hard to find a proper discussion area and possibly if there is a big turn-out, cannot accomodate everybody. Worse if it rains...

As you can see, the place has quite a nice, relaxed ambience with sofa areas that can be moved around to accomodate more than 10 people. At least for this joint lah. It's not noisy at all, they only have unintrusive piped in music that can barely be heard.

Cos at the end of the day, the first session is more like -

1) Get to know each other first if you don't already know
2) Talk about your gig experiences and lessons learnt
3) Talk about vocal tips that you know and would like to share
4) Talk about music in general
5) Get comfy with each other and make new friendships

This is JUST a suggestion lah. We can come up with other ideas, I am sure.

But must make sure got a few outgoing people who are eloquent lah, to lead the discussion.

For me, I am very shy one...
