Anyone got any idea which model of the Ibanez RG series this is? Roughly around 5, maybe older I think...

Probably pre-2003 - that's when the Edge Pro & Edge III trems came out - since your RG has the TRS trem.

Does that help? :D

Hmmm... Since this question turned up, I'm curious if you could change the bridge, from TRS trem to maybe Edge Pro..? I'm not really complaining yet, but two consecutive days of playing about 2-3 hours plus, it goes slightly flat...

Any idea where to find the parts too?

Retrofit a Gotoh floyd rose instead.

Cheaper than the Edge Pro and probably more toneful.

Google for it - its like what, 180 bucks?

Its definitely a standard range RG, by the logo on the headstock. Never saw gold hardware on a standard range RG before though. To be honest your guitar's super beautiful.

In terms of stability I hear the Ibanez ZR trems are the best.

Hahahaha... I know... I think its a babe as well~! Problem is, its my cousin's guitar. Its on loan to me for me to get used to it, maybe get my own. Hahaha...

RG470? That's gotta be a rare guitar! Its been discontinued for some time already.

Pity Ibanez tends to discontinue some really great guitars, I'm still mourning for the SZ series.

All models wld have the same series of serial numbers, as in the first few numbers, if u can post the serial number up here the more experienced SOFTies can do a positive ID. And btw, its super sexy! Red see-through top with gold hardware! I'm drooling already.......

its probably a photoflame finish over a basswood body since the rg470 isnt a high end rg model. if its the rg6xx or rg7xx series, thats probably another story :)

S/N : F604918, Made in Japan.

Hmmm... Yeah, I'm all slurpz over this guitar, even more than my planned purchase of the Ibanez RG350DX (white)

i wished to haf one of that rg550. arguably one of the best guitars ibanez produced but sadly those original 1980s-1990s japanese made ones are hard to find.

Hahaha... Nice nice... I like that colour and model too... But its a tad too high a price... How come nvr string? Not scared neck warp?

Havent set up yet..very busy. Wont neck warp one lah. This thing is in really excellent condition, even after 12 years..some wear on the fret is inevitable lah. Yah, the reissue 20th anniv RG550s are very ex, but in my opinion, this thing I got can any time out-value them, just look at the rosewood board, I have never seen a rosewood board on a DY with a matching stock.
