Hi I own an Ibanez SRX500 bass and one of the tone knobs just came off. There are no visible screw threads of anything, so I was wondering if anyone here would be able to help me out. Thanks in advance.

i think it's a solid shaft pot .. just jam it back into the slot ... should work ...

i own the srx500

if you realise, you can just yank the knobs off. there is no screw thing or whatever. probably the plastic inside the knob expanded or whatever, so it doesnt fit the pot anymore. just go davis and find a new one

sorry for delayed reply...

the generic plastic knobs featured above (regardless of volume/ tone label), come unthreaded internally, meaning- no grooves inside. so when the factory hands insert these at the assembly plant, the thread forms, hence the grip. along the way, when one keeps turning them, they come loose, the extreme condition being- keep on turning but no effect. in this case the thread has worn, replecement knobs are required.

however, the simple remedy here (supposing you still wish to retain that knob for sentimental reasons), is to pry apart the knob's slit top slightly then re-insert your knob (yes, it's gonna be slightly tight).
