Ibanez Pups

I tried it out at Swee Lee on an RG350. Woah e sound imo is marvellous.

V7 & V8 will be even better... I'm in love w RGs (rgs also).

8O

I'm genuinely surprised. These are pickups I will swap out at any given opportunity.

If i do i will. IMO they suck so bad i don't even play with my S now. I won't touch it until i have them swapped out, which will be a long time more.

A few, also dependant on mood. Nah, i don't and won't sell any of my guitars. Each has got a special place.

EMGs

Oic . . . So sorrie :( Pls forgive me. I just need an upgrade of sound.

As far as I'm concerned, those active EMG pickups are way too powerful for me.

No worries man :)

You've still got Dimarzio and S.D.'s  Just try as many guitars loaded with these few brands of pickups as possible, it'll help. Tone searching can really be a chore.

No $$$

yea i agree. esp wen diff pups combined w diff wood body gifs u diff sound.

a pickup may sound good on a guit & even better/worse in another guit.

jialat man.. need a breakthru..

i'd recommand DiMarzios... you know somehow, people always use ibanez guitars with laney amps and dimarziaos...

this is really subjective/ personal- i tried every guitar with the INF pickups in them & they are rather midrange inclined. if you like them then there's no stopping you...

the INF/ Q/ V pickups in '80s Ibanez were really wonderful. the Q model for instance (Q= Quantum, mainly in the S-series Ibanez), were Dimarzio wound & really sounds fantastic. the INF/ V units were at least American & sounded really above-average.

Dimarzio

any dimarzio pickups to recommend? my frens were telling me how gre8 dimarzio pups were, but I've not idea how dey sound.

any artist(s) in particular uses such pups on their guit?

i would let Dimarzio fans reply accordingly, i'm now Seymour Duncan inclined. please do not oblige yourself to accept the Ibanez + Dimarzio formula because this is largely subjective. yes Dimarzio & Ibanez make a great pair, typified by the tones of Vai/ Satriani/ Gilbert/ et al, but who's to say that other brand name pickups wouldn't sound good in your Ibanez?

I love Gilby, Satch & Vai sound. Outstanding & unique in their own ways.

Do they have any sound sample from those Dimarzio pickups?

Whats the diff between SD pups & Duncan designed? Something lyk Gibson & Epiphone?
