Ibanez owners come on in!!

Those are the stock pickups and they're marked V1, S1, V2 (neck, middle, bridge).

The Strat neck is absoultely beautiful - you probably know that it has 'rolled edges' to the fingerboard so it feels already worn in. On top of that, it has some special finish (nitro-cellulose or polyurethane - I forget which) which just makes it feel very 'slippery'. Also has a carved heel at the neck/body joint for easier upper freat access.

I love it. Still, it's a Strat, so the neck is a little chunkier than an Ibanez and you can definitely feel it when you move from one to the other...

good to know there are S-series fans here, i'm certainly a fan but since it sports the ZR vibrato- it effectively killed my interest.

also, good to know Ibanez owners who own fenders too- hey i own the 50th Ann strat myself, but mine's the Am Series version 8)

well the rg, made in japan...
model and year i forgot...bought it 7 yrs ago...

i actually ditch the pots and trade with a coil tap...
Just my preference..tats all...

the hot pickup is use with dual overdrive and eq ...just a simple set up...

So the 50th anniversary is sort of like a "Prestige" Fender la haha...feel like trying one at sweelee...but there's this sort of immense pressure when u ask to step into the showroom haha...but some old bloke the last time got away with some simple blues licks haha... hey i'm a strat owner too..but mine's an MIM fat strat..

Oh, there're 3. Andy Timmons, Gary Hoey's and Neil Zaza's. The guitar has become, sort of like a signature collecting instrument. Sadly I no longer play it.

Yea, ever since i did some vai whammy abuse to it before it had signatures on it, the trem has been the main cause of disappointment. So maybe it's good i retired it I'll stick to vintage trems of strats for whammy stuff. So much easier to use.

i have a 540S7. the original 7-string S series Ibanez made in 1991. 7-string lo-pro edge trem,s/s/h blaze custom pickups. i'll try to get a pic up soon..
and an old RX40,beat to hell,but it has the thickest distorted rhythm sound you can ever imagine. theres just something about this guitar,no matter what pickups you put in it,it ROARS. used to have a duncan JB and bill lawrence XL500 in the bridge,now it has a dimarzio evolution.

the ZR vibrato is a fine mechanism, really, but it adds too much weight to the S-series guitar which is a self-defeating purpose. the S was conceived manifest good tones without being heavy in the first place, i guess now it's like a parody of itself... since Frank Gambale left Ibanez, the S-series had been floating in limbo...

aha- an RX-40 owner here. i have one too. this guitar somehow rejects Duncans, i have a Tone Zone in there & it's simply awesome. 8)
