Hi Folks

I've got an Ibanez PF200 Les Paul Sunburst that I'd like ot have more info on. It's in mind condition - NOT. It's going to need a lot of work to get it going again.

I'd like to know if it's worth the time and expense to get it into shape.

Like, how old is it and what kinda cost am I looking at - it very likely needs a major overhaul.

Thanks dude! At least now I know what it is lol. I didn't know it's such an old guitar. The thing is to see if it's worth the time and expense to get it going.

but from that one lone pic...
the kahler looks to be added on later due to the messily cut slot for the locking nut.
whatever it is, the guitar began life about 77/78...
while kahler's didnt get popular til almost the mid 80s...
so yea most probably a aftermarket addition.

Thanks for the replies. Any idea what kind of price I can get for this? It's not in good condition and the electronics are non-functional.

price you can always check online.
in mint condition probably not more than $500.
since yours isnt, better you keep it.

the guitar would have been more valueable without the kahler on board...

Ibanez needs to offer more single cut solid bodies...

Folks, the pic isn't the one I own - mine's with a friend. I just checked with him and it seems that mine doesn't have the Kahler thingy.

I'll take the guitar back and take a pic to post either here or at the GearSell Forum.

Thanks for the replies.

Cheers

bolt or set neck?

rough way to judge the old japanese guitars is that they were more of a budget model if they had bolt on necks. The ones with the set necks are Usually the better built ones.
