I think I found the tone!

I've been looking for that thick, warm, rich, retro tone and I think I've found it!

Was just tinkering around with my amp, playing with the controls and testing the iPhone's recording abilities when everything just clicked. :D

Made a really short recording to show the nice fat tone. No post-processing. All I did was to convert the file to MP3. Oh, and please pardon the playing. :)

nice, what bass were you using? And I suppose you're not gonna sell your shuttle 6.0 already since you've found that elusive tone. Haha. Have a shuttle 3.0 myself and I am extremely pleased with the tones it can give me. What were your settings for this one?

Was using a Fender MIA P strung with Sadowsky flats. Haha, yeah. Not selling the Shuttle 6.0 anymore! :D

I'd rather have something overpowered, but with the tone I want, than to have to go out and look for a smaller amp with a similar tone.

My settings for this:

you might as well keep the amp, if you're gonna have a boutique amp head it's gonna come with power either way. if u need less VOLUME u can always turn the volume down or pair it with a smaller cab (the power rating of the cab doesn't matter, as long as you do not go below the MINIMUM LOAD)

Yeah, I've decided I could live with an underutilised amp that gives me the tone I want. Never know when I'll need the extra headroom too! :)

glad you found your tone.

I've always managed to dial in my desired tone i want with Genz-Benz. And that's what makes me wanna buy the ShuttleMax12 or the GBE 1200 even more.

Is this scooped with lows boost? Gonna give it a try on my shuttle 3.0 later! As a general rule of thumb I usually boost mids and cut highs, but I guess it's worth a try.
