I want to buy a mini amp but im not sure which to choose.
its either a marshal ms-2 or ms-4 a vox amplug(is it the same like a normal amp) or fender minitwins?

im not sure.i need your help..
and they require batteries right?
i want one asap.i need your help!

okay.so i have chosen orange micro crush, vox amplugs and fender twin amps.so pls tell me which one to choose from!thanks.and may i know how much do they cost.

Personally (and I have owned a Marshall MS-2) mini-amps are nothing but gimmicks. They sound 'ok' at best and are overpriced - you could get the same sound out (assuming you could input your guitar) from a $10 mono radio set. I have tried the small Fender one and it is similar in quality to the Marshall i.e. low-fi. I cannot speak for the Orange Crush.

The VOX amplugs are a different story - these are modelling devices that model one particular type of amp and do speaker sim if I am not wrong, so the quality (with headphones, as these do not have a built in speaker) will be much better.

Ask yourself this - "what am I buying a mini-amp for?"

just to buy for fun.use it if wants to session outside the house like that.
so which one is better?how bout the roland mobile cube?

the roland micro cube is a whole different story. though it's only 5w (or is it 3w??) it can go pretty loud. it has a few different amp models and built-in effects. on top of that, it can be powered by batteries.

used to own one myself. if you want something that is portable and yet reliable, i'd say go for it

If you want to do a session outside the house, the mini amps are next to useless in terms of volume.

I recommend something like microcube.

A micro-cube is pretty good.

The thing is really loud - you can still annoy your parents. Heh. Its 2 watts by the way.

if you look forward to some appealing tones from these amps; you are better off NOT getting them. i own a few of these & they are better novelty items than tone generators per se (& i'm not talking about GOOD tones...).

if your primary consideration is mobility & you own a device with a headphone outlet, do consider this option:

Pocket Pods are in the $160-$170 range at City Music. They also have an 'Express' version which is a reduced set of sounds for about $120.

MicroCube can be obtained at Swee Lee for about $150-$160 after discount. Go look it up on the Web for its specs and size.
