I'm not surprised that you are not finding much regarding your Samick on the net.

Passed down from one generation to another, amazing. Frankly, I never knew that Samick has been around for such a long time.

it's one of those older samicks. i think 1958 is the year the company was started, not the year the guitar was made. i've seen quite a few of these at 2nd hand shops.
dont mean to burst your bubble but it's hard to find information on old samicks. their web only shows the greg bennet stuff and back in the day korean stuff was regarded as crap.

try UG/ TGP perhaps?

The 2 turning knobs are for volume and tone. The 5 way switch is for choosing which pick-ups to use (neck, bridge, etc).
