hey people, i need help. I currently own a S-S-H Fender MIM Strat, and I was thinking of changing my humbucker. What's a good humbucker that I can install on a fat strat? Are duncan JBs or 59s suited for strats?

what kinda music are into?pleasa state the music you are playing and type of amp you using.would help alot in helping you.lol

I'm very much into funk and blues, a little bit of rock too. Think John Mayerish balance of the 3 genres...lol...I have a great neck pickup which actually kinda fulfills my first 2 genre interests. However, I'm seeking for a humbucker with more punch and depth, as opposed to my current one which sounds relatively shallow for a humbucker. I'm hoping for a humbucker which can produce more depth, so as to get a more appropriate sound for rock songs, as well as to give a not-too-jarring but clear drive when the time calls for it in Church during Worship. I use a Marshall MG15DFX at home, and the amp I use at Church is a Marshall MG100DFX. I'm more bent towards the Duncan 59 or JB, probably cos I've played with them before on Les Pauls and enjoyed those moments...lol...wondering if they go with strats....

Thanks so much for replying. Hope to hear from u soon =)

Get something that is less hot if you are looking for versatility.

The JB is what... 14k? 16k?

Try 10k. Or even 9k.

I'd recommend www.has-sound.com because his pickups have great mojo to it. I enjoy his products tremendously over the 12 or so Dimarzios I've gone thru.

But if you can't afford it, consider a Dimarzio PAF Pro.

I'd have to second this sugg. Lower output pups for greater versatility anytime.

Something in the PAF camp would prob suit your needs. I'm waiting for my set of WCR Darkbursts to arrive...I play in church like you do. :)

thanks guys...ur all realli helpful...lol....where do i get the paf pro from? Davis? And ani idea roughly how much it costs? =)

sorry to toss one more stone in the air, but if you have a humbucker-sized cavity, and are looking for a lot of tonal-clarity, combined with the ability to growl with higher gain, I'd highly recommend the Harmonic Design Z90. Seriously one of the best pups I've heard/played with. You'd have to order this from USA - directly from HD I think.
