hello, i have a bc rich kkw, and whenever i reach the 17th fret, it buzzes non-stop. It sounds exactly like the 18th fret when i pick it, is the action too low? when i pick the 14th,15th,16th frets chromatically, it sounds fine, but whenever it reaches the 17th, it sounds like the 18th. i'm confused.

sounds like your frets are not level. meaning, the 18th is higher than the 17th, and is robbing your 17th of the note. bring it to someone (like guitar connection) to have the frets levelled...

thanks man, i haven't got a bag suitable for the guitar, can it be fixed by the user?

Of course it does... but it's not that expensive... I think below $50...

ouch, haha, seeing like i'm just a student, it's goona take a pinch out of my wallet. dang.yup, there's a difference in the fret levels on the 17th and 18th fret, but the rest of the strings are playing alright.

THEN there might be a solution here. Raise the saddles slightly for this one string. see if the problem is still there or not.If that doesn't help, then start saving for a fret job, or a new guitar...

Tap in the offending fret with a mallet. It'sprobably not sitting well. In extreme cases theactual frt may need to be levelled.

fgl is right, the fret is probably not seated properly . you should bring it down to a tech to have a look cos you might have to file your frets down further.

but, it'll still cost right? funny thing is, i've just gotten this particular guitar. can i use sandpaper to sand it down?
