how to "shrug" guitar

Hi softies,

i just saw a james morison video on youtube -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ9J6l438IQ

I am curious abt his strumming pattern. i do not even know what it is call - he uses his 4 fingers to strum down, it gives a very punchy sound.

I want to learn how he does it.. does any softies can give advices?

Her fingers are simply too fast.. i cant observe how she did it at all...

I think it's something like a short flamencco "tap". The idea is to use your nails to hit the strings... to give it a punchy tone... this may give a bigger sound than using a pick.

Yep.. i tink they uses their nails to hit the strings.. i cant see how many fingers they uses.. all the 4 fingers or wat
