Hi guys, my guitar dropped onto the floor while on a chair and the headstock took the full impact of it. Now there's a few milimetres of chip offs at the corner of the headstock. Lacquer/clear coat and some paint were chipped off. Its not an expensive guitar, but has sentimental values. How do i get it restored? anyone here can do it or recommend a shop to me?

I dont have a camera, but will try to get a picture up by tomorrow. Thnaks

Appreciate all inputs

Dude, I get these all the time.:(
To me , the best way to fill chipoffs is by using nail polish / hardeners. Your mom, sis, or girlfriends should know.
Use the clear ones for lacquer coating .For colours , you have to use either markers or get other colouring tools to fill in the colours. Then followed by clear nail polish.
This method is just to conceal the chips. Not to refurbish the guitars to brand new condition.
How well finish depends on how skillful you are with the nail polish. .......So start polishing your girlfriends nails now!!!!:p

Hi bro, appreciate your quick reply.

I understand it can never go back to brand new condition. As at current, the chip is showing some wood and its really sticking out like a sore thumb from the black headstock and maroon red stained back of the headstock. It pains me to see it in that condition lol.

I'll give it a try. If it cant work out, i think i'll send in to guitar connection. contact was actually just given when i called up the shop where i got my guitar from. hope all turns out well...

leave it as is ... sometimes botched repair jobs lead to even more cosmetic problems ..

also - the chips will be the axe's battle scars and remind you to be MORE CAREFUL in future

^^^^^^^^^ agreed.
even though it has sentimental value, its not worth the money doing the job unless its the sentimental + super expensive type.
the chip should remind you that you ought to be more careful anyway =D.
