How to learn more

I've been playing electric guitar for like 2 years, mainly getting the tabs of songs that I like. Some rock and metal, metallica, megadeth, maiden, children of bodom. Given time, I can eventually play the solos. But then im kindda stuck there I think. What should I do next?

the better part of learning is to come out with one's own ideas. this way, it trains one to manifest what is one's head instead of regurgitating tabbed materials.

learn to know every note on the guitar.,
with that you can transcribe lots of good ideas and make new songs.

IMO learning from a teacher is a fast way to improve. i recently got a teacher in june and i must say this is the part where i see the most improvements in my journey.

mhmmn. How bout tabbing the songs by ear? Practise/learn particular scales and practise them. Eventually,each song,not only the bands that you mentioned,has a scale,so it's an advantage. When you practise a particular scale and for example,manage to tab out a certain solo,example 'Metallica - Seek and Destroy' which is in the E Pentatonic Minor' ,it is easier for you to play and also saves time for you to search for the tab.
That's giving an example,if you know various the scales and practise them. This is IMO la.

haha. i agree that you will improve very fast but the style of your playing and whatnot will be like the teacher. IMO only.
