Take extra care with epoxy as some people have skin reactions to this stuff...well maybe only me

so in this pic, what is the yellow thing? what are you doing exactly? the white thing is the inlay itself or the epoxy?

thanks!

Ok the yellow thingy is just my test pen to push the inlay in the cavity.You can use other thing of course:D(chop stick,screwdriver etc) And the white thing is the inlay itself.

Here's one more of my project.It's a Cort earth 72.Wasn't really in good shape when I got her.neck need setup,broken nut,buldging sound board. But after some TLC behold;

Parts change:
1) tuner heads
2) tusc nut
3) bone saddle
4) rosewood pins/end pin
5) customize inlay
6) SWEAT!!!

if you are using rosewood/ebony or anything dark, it's better to use black epoxy instead of just clear epoxy. It will be able to help you hide your mistakes in the routing.

Nice tutorial btw~

Hi Gr3y thanks for the tip but for me i'll just reuse the saw dust from the rosewood and premix with the epoxy could do the same trick.

about custom inlays

hi.. wondering if u do custom inlays for other ppl? i wanna heart inlays for my acoustic guitar.. also {{After it has set probably the next day. Comes the most tiring part, Sanding!!!
For me I use grid 280 to remove the epoxy then 350,400,600,800 and lastly 1200 to get it flushed and polished.
note: take note of the colour of the residue stop if the colour is brown, that is your fretboard and you'll probably end up scalloping it!!!}}

what do u mean by

after u finish the custom inlays the fretboard will be scalloped?

dam good work bro .... when I did inlays in the past I always do in combi with refret job - too tedious for me to sand each and every fret area .... painstakingly .... kudos to you for doing it ....

Ok as promised 2 more inlay project that I completed;
