how to find gig slots!!!

you all forgot one thing... probably a sub-point under 'network'

sometimes no matter how hard you try you still can't make it. that is where you got to ask yourself... do i really want it... then maybe you might have to suck something

sure emough its been done before lol did one in my school ha well the idea for a one off is col enough if we can get the right place andsound equipments etc.im intrested in one if thres any

holding your own gig can be expensive and/or risky but if you do decide to hold one, think it through and plan it well and you should be ok. you may wanna talk with some of the forummers with gig-organizing experience such as visa and AgingYouth for opinions/feedback before you hold your own show. if you get a chance to meet/talk with people like Sabrina, Egan or Rachel Fye at gigs, they're very experienced too, and will be able to give you some good pointers.

Visa organized the CAVE events shows, Sabrina organized Rock For Good and later Rock For Wayne, Rachel did the Fasten Your Seatbelts show and she ran (and i think she's still running) the Deafcon series, and Egan has worked with Sabrina on some independent shows held at clubs. Aging Youth runs a a music e-zine at www.agingyouth.com and runs the famous Bar None Monday Night Sessions, and his experience and activity in the local music scene would put many of us to shame. he would be pretty masterful at this, i'd expect.

unless someone has a tour manager or other role...


after all, it's just a little idea that cross my mind
i mean it will be a one hell of it but it's gonna worth it...

you guys gt that right we didnt hav any proper backing in the diy school gig the teachers pulled the plug on our mics...and well financially the organiser had to cahse and eventually threatned certain ppl coz they didnt wanna pay!ha it was a free gig la so the gear money was all using our own pocket monneythere were aromd 5 bands i think,and yeah the school didint even get for us anything not even a subsidise o any kind of that shit,man taht was a horror ha.if only one of us here can be the 'tour manager' ha and the proper contacts and place.
