how often do u guys change strings,...

if you dont perodically use a pen knife to shave off the top layer of fast fret of course you will be spreading rust to your strings!

You use it to coat rusty strings, rust gets trapped on the applicator. You use the applicator on new strings, rust gets spread to the strings. Common sense eh :)

not really..i play everyday..clean everyday..but with fastcrap..my frets gets affected faster than before ..heh..my say..just use that tissue paper/newspaper ..works best

and..nope..i dun use penknife..for tat purpose..its safer to tape the frets ..and use superfine steel wool on the frets....HOWEVER..i jsut spend 3 hrs rubbing the frets with paper/cloth till they come to a shine again

hahahaha.... okok.. if you guys dun want to change strings regularly.. then to generally maintain... i use the following with very VERY good results..

old english lemon oil. - $9.90 from any D.I.Y store... one bottle can last you .. months to a year of daily use.

silicon spray ? - not sure of the brand. but it coats lubricates and cleans all metal /plastic/wood surfaces... perfect if you just polished your guitar...and hate finger prints... this gives your guitar body the "babybutt smooth'" effect.

i use lemon oil on the strings... and fretboard... silicon spray to wipe the strings and neck/body/bridge...etc..every few days...to keep the sleek feel.

no point buying fast fret , dunlop 65...guitar polish etc , just waste money.

the best guitar polish imo is CAR polish. cars go thru 100 times more dirt and corrosion that guitars go thru. i use AURI gold ..polymer..protection...space age mojo crap for my guitars... perfect showroom shine everytime.... and it protects.

just next time you change your strings... take off the strings... ... apply lemon oil generously to your fingerboard... let it soak .... then if your guitar is REALLY REALLY old... use a toothbrush and brush the frets to get rid of the muck ...

polishing the body is..er.. like polishing anything..
just wipe the area clean .... with a normal cloth...
then put some polish... apply in a circular motion until polish fades into surface or gives blurry powdered look.
then use another clean soft cloth and buff to shine.

er... next time you buy a car..you going to scratch it and dent it to give it the " used" look as well?.

worn guitars are "cool" but they are also ugly.

its always a kick to take out my ce24 and have people ask me how old is the guitar? when i say 13 -14 yrs they all give the same "huh?" look.

keep it shiny.

lol good shit chan min...and ur the one who told me to get JD 65 for the strings..kena sabo! Anyways shall try the lemon oil thingy on the strings. Dab it on cloth then hold the string and go down the neck issit. Better work ar this time...dun sabo me again!

that was because i didnt know lemon oil sold in D.I.Y mah .... anyways... the jd65 is not bad... smell smell can get abit high sum more... but lemon oil is cheaper..and you get a bottle of it. it also doenst harm your guitar...
its specifically for wood
but they got two types ah.. one for dark wood and one for light wood.. dun mix up...

well..i din mean u said soak..=>
look ard..usually just a small dab is recommend..

supposedly not all lemon all the same..some contains silicone(?) compounds tat are no good for the fretboard..

well i use old english.. basically because its the only brand of lemon oil i can find.... its worked fine with no bad effects for the past hmm...2-3 yrs
