Nah.. Take your time to learn. Don´t think of forming band first, build up what you know bit by bit. Every band also have problem, arguments, so it might not be to your best interest to join a band sometimes.

Dont let anyone look down on you la. Better to start small than work ur way up. Sure SG Music scene is baddd. (they´re planning to shut down the sound department in my school)But look on the bright side. It couldn´t get any worse could it? Hope not...Already quite jia lat.

Actually on the contary. There are more jamming studios than before. More events for new bands to perform. Even my church started opening a hall for bands to perform and have fun, playing non-gospel songs but rather alternative rock kind of stuff. So I will say the scene is not that bleak after all.

yea kinda true that guitarists r very common.. but never unwanted. Through experience.. formed 4 bands for fun before.. I always managed to find the guitarists first. And there was always more than I wanted. Your opportunity will come. dun worry.

Just make more friends and tell people about the kind of music you play.. and your kind of playing. Stay alert for people looking for guitarists to form bands.. there are plenty I can see, here, other websites. Go look around...

If you're good. Many people would clamour to want you in their band right?

Well, I always feel having a whole set of skills is cool. Once u have a firm grasp of music and your instrument, other instruments will come as a breeze.

Be open minded lor, pick up other instruments, like the bass, the keyboards, drums, even instruments from other genres like electronic, classical, oriental like maybe the flute, sitar, er-hu, gu zhen....

The experience will be totally cool! After that forming a band would be like which instrument do you want to play...instead of "do you need a 2nd guitarist?"

That's because there are so few female guitarists here that are in bands.
Or for that matter, play a mean ax!

i got into bands by locking myself up in my room for hours and hours to practice guitar and also by meeting people and making alot of friends <-- ultimate

well as for me. i was close frens with my band members and we all sucked so we didnt relly care who played for who. :lol:
