Alright, i've been taking up guitar for like a year or + , lost track of it. So anyways, i wanna play like Petrucci and kill everyone by shredding how do I do that.
How do I play shred melodiously and stuff

It takes discipline and whole lot of practice. I watched a vid or read somewhere that Petrucci practiced 6 hours every day without fail and Myung was his buddy to keep him motivated.

for that,i recommend u to practice slowly,analyse ur style and think how u can improve and try doing so.after sometime,speed will follow
