How good are these offers?

Thanks for the advice guys!

I have been researching on used guitar shops in Japan. And here are some offers I have found so far. I was wondering if you guys can comment how reasonable they are compared to what’s available around SG. Note the conditions of the guitars are unknown.

Gibson LP Classic - Y115,000 (S$ 1550)
Gibson LP Studio – Y78,000 (S$ 1050)
Gibson Explorer in natural finish – Y93,000 (S$ 1245)
Gibson Flying V Std - Y79,000 (S$ 1065)
Fender Japan Jazzmaster - Y52,500 (S$ 700)

Thanks!

Price is super worth it but at what kind of condition? Add 100-150 for shipping. Does it includes a gig bag, hard case etc?

Well, the prices are good... but I rem my friend telling me that Hong Kong is really cheap... there was a limited edition natural finish mahogany Gibson flying V (brand new) for $1k SGD (he bought it) and LPs list for something close to what you mentions (can't rem).

Maybe you want to do a comparison with some HK shops? To see if you can get an even better deal?

Heh... on a side note, if i were in Japan, i will grab an Ibanez J Custom with a Vine of Life inlay. :)

You are fortunate to travel to Japan soon and buy a guitar.

The Fender Jpn Jazzmaster you listed is probably made of basswood. You could post the link and I will translate it for you. My katakana isn't sucky as the other aspects, but I can handle it... :)

Fender Jpn Jaguars and Jazzmaster? Cool! That's something different... There is a very large range of Fender Jpn guitars, bigger than Ishibashi's.

Well, do bear in mind that the prices you see online aren't necessarily for new items. They have outlet prices, just like music123 and musiciansfriend.

Hmm... So your budget for a guitar is up to JPY115,000? Take the time to try when you're there... Be prudent.

Could I send you my price list? It's still not fully completed, but it will help you a lot in your research. PM me your email address. The prices are inclusive of Japanese tax. Retain your receipts for tax refunds at the airport.

tts very cheap for a Gibby LP Classic, i bought mine 2nd hand for 2.3k. if its brand new and plays well i would pay the man in cash and haul it home haha.
