how do i install a floyd rose into my strat??

yeah i think u do not know what u are looking for.

installing a floyd rose onto a strat is really not an easy job to do. just buy another strat with a floyd rose will save u the trouble, the time and the risks of screwing ur current guitar over.

but i will go out of tune like crap
thats y i wanna a floyd so that it wont go out of tune

still, wouldn't you think that getting a floyd rose and locking nut for your strat is both time and money consuming? you spend about 200 or 300 plus (issit?) so you can get your guitar in tune??

lol brudda you sure anot??

tell you what. you go to this place called standard value around woodlands there. here is the webbie: http://www.standardvalue.com.sg/. theres this really nice guy called mike and he'll fill you in about this. and, for your guitar, just get ready about 40 bucks or so. he'll help you set up your axe to your preferences. he did mine, and mine's great =)

oh yeah, i recall that theres a couple of RGs there for sale, so why not check them out? ;)

cheers man.

actually some floyd rose guitars go out of tune way easier than most other tremolos.

Yup. Do not get those cheapo ones. A good one like Gotoh will cost you about 200 to 300 bucks plus a cavity routing job which cost 200 plus, isn't it wiser to get a new guitar. :) You decide ;)

Yeah Mikey. Best guy to bring your guitar to.

I understand what you are going through because I have the same problem. The reason why if you use floyd rose it won't go out of tune is because of the locking nut if u remove the locking nut it will still go out of tune.
SX guitars come with a vintage tremolo which is half block of I think cast iron or chrome this is the worst kind of tremolo material u can get.
A Japan fender vintage tremolo is slightly better because it's a full block and your sustain is better about going out of tune well it does but not as much as the one u are having now.
The made in USA fender vintage tremolo is made of steel and is full block this is the best one u can get and yes you can do dive bombs and it's much cheaper than a good floyd rose.
If you want to get floyd rose get a gotoh brand or schaller or the original floyd rose. I'm using Schaller licensed floyd rose and it's really good but I paid $500 for that.
About the cavity thing is because your SX tremolo is kind of small and the floyd rose is big so you need to make the hole bigger. the hole is the cavity.
However your machine heads aka tuning pegs also plays a part about the going out of tune. SX guitars comes with really cheap tuning pegs so yea it's kind of sucky so you might want to consider changing them too.

bro: let me just summarise the reasons of NOT getting a floyd into ur guitar

1) u will want a good floyd, licenced, original
2) these would cost twice the cost of ur guitar
3) u will need proper tools to cut out cavity
4) u will need the skill to cut out cavity
5) u may need to reroute ur electronics
6) u will need to buy locking nut
7) u need to fix ur locking nut
8) u will need to setup ur guitar again to suit the new features
9) u will not have a guarantee of ur workmanship
10) if all fails, u may end up buying a guitar fitted with floyd

money spent ~ $500 on ur SX guitar??? u must love that guitar so much. but well, its of course up to u to bear the cost.

well if not, u can just skip to step 10. =))

just forget the idea man. Just get a new rg or something. A floyd in a sx strat is... Ugh. Doesn't mean a floyd will fix all your problems. Know what you want, and do a lil research for it. :)

not a good idea.i can say your guitar may turn out to look like EVH's strat or even worse.

scrap the idea.save up and get a a guitar with floyd rose.preferably something that can withstand abuse.

evh frankenstrat has a slight cavity just to fit the Floyd rose.evh flush mount his Floyd rose, meaning it cant be pulled back, which im sure this guy needs/wants
