We could do it so links on the stickies can be moved to a consolidated place. Perhaps implement it later, when the stickies start to build up over time.

This is a good idea... But of cos, some of my views...

1. Currently, Soft has some modules that kinda does this, like MReviews, etc. Then these would have to be churned over to the new forum.

*I don't quite like these modules though. Cos searching the forums don't yield results from these modules as the search is not comprehensive or integrated enuff, or not hacked to do so...

2. As we see in the SD forum, that forum is a READ-Only forum ala Vault.

That means if Soft implements this, it would be better if there is/are newly appointed moderator(s) to move those good threads from the original forum over. I don't think James can solo all tasks, albeit he can/could. Decentralizing sure helps, IMO.

And if we follow the SD format, these posts would usually be created in the normal forums. If moderators move it, it would be good to live a "copy" in the original forum. Not too sure PHPBB can do it r not (cant remember), for sure VBB can...

3. Even other stuff like Ads, etc... I felt should be implemented in the Forum manner. Going Classifieds/modular manner just feels abit weird for me.

Overall.. I think it's good to go Forum Main, Portal as front end...

p/s: As Soft is mainly PHP Nuke w/ a forum module, I may be wrong in some suggestions. Most of what I dealt with are Forum w/ a Portal module...

2. Actually the threads are already in place on the guitar sections. basically the stickies do that for now. And we don't really have to make it read-only/locked.

2. The stickies are getting too much... So having this vault as what u suggest, I think it's great...
