Hokkien Music in Singapore

Just to ask around... Waht do your guys think of playing Hokkien songs in Singapore? Any comments?

So which area are you from?why you come into my territory and stare my like some ****ing ***e **e?Then begin the gang poem.........

i wonder if anyone wants to make a rock version of it at gigs and have members of that said gang chanting along to it(cmon,im sure some of you would know a song or two.haha)
 
Erm. There are a lot of bands who play hokkien and dialect songs. Those 7th month bands. All of them are really tight.

Haha thanks for your comments.... Anyway may I know what instruments ur a re happen to be playing? Ai ya anyway i think hokkien song can be made diff 1... no anymore like gang, oldies...
 
theres lotsa taiwanese artist doing the min nan yu type of songs liao, from hip hop to electronic, poetic hokkien type and some even metal etc

but then, big pool of hokkien songs still on gangs, pai mia lang, pai kia eh sim siah, bu nui eh mia wun etc. Heh, those are roksss buay siiii!

I do not really understand wat you are saying. But i think its just because ppl dun use hokkien for other concept thats all. I think even hokkien can be used to write other types of song too... Yah maybe currently hokkien is abou pai gia, pai mia those theme... just to ask what theme do u think is better and more attractive?

for a start, wu bai has got quite a number of min na yu songs, The worlds can be beautiful, cheeky arrangement of songs and its not about the typical beng ah seng ah zhar bor teh lang zhao i want to die those type
