Hiss from amp

hi,

when i connect my guitar to my new amp, there is some hiss. its continuous, sound like static.

the louder the volume, the louder the hiss.

But when my hand touch the strings or the cable whole, the hiss will subside.

Maybe i know whats the reason? or its my amp problem?

You might want to turn your volume knob on your guitar to the max. I have this problem before. But when I put full, there's no hiss

It doesnt really help, in fact it became worse, because the volume became louder.

You're playing clean or OD? What amp are you using? The higher the gain, the louder the hiss.

your amp might not be getting enough power. its best an amp go direct into a socket. not share with others. if you must share the socket, minimise the number of items.

i am using a Fender Jap with a Cube 30.

Yeah, i think u are right, last time when i dont share powerpoint, its not so loud, now i share with 5 sockets. with me 1 desktop and 2 laptops.

maybe thats the prob.

lack of power causes noise. though there are many sources, a forum search will reap rewards

for now maybe look for an unshared powerpoint.

hmmm, okay second option, your effects IF any. also, dirty connectors, old old and dying cables, pickups, faulty soldering theres alot. you got to keep troubleshooting my man.

maybe that is because of radio interference? try moving the guitar around (while the amp is on of coz), and see if the noise become less/worse. also try to play at different time of the day to see if the noise is always there.

I got my new fender. The cable is new, come with the guitar, just got 1 week ago.

Amp is not new thoguh, only recently have the hiss. some more very loud. omg.

new guitars dont mean perfect soldering unfortunately. ive ever had to resolder a new pedal. anything's possible bro. just do certain tests. perhaps using another guitar. as for cable woming with guitar, upgrade that. those that are packaged arent good in most cases. maybe get horizon cables form yamaha. planet waves or something. your preference.

wah bro, you jump to this thread also. its a suggestion lah. but i dont use fender cables. horizon for me. plus after my planet waves konked out and everytime it does, it means -1 foot from the length. damn.

The one on how to change 2 pin plug to 3 pin plug. The power cable of new amps will confirm be 2 pins. So read the sticky and change it to 3 pins. Ah and it's called grounding when you do that. The extra pin grounds the amp. And so do your hands when you touch the strings.
