hipshot tremsetter?

Yo guys...Sorry to bring up such an old post.

Since im interested to know more about tremsetters.

Are there any disadvantages in using tremsetters?

The way shredcow says to tany is like its not really reccommended. Willing to know more.

Cheers :D

Hmmm... do a search on jemsite.

The thing abt tremsetters is it "catches" you at the zero point... unlike having say , a simple block which only block your trem's movement one way but leave the other way unhindered. The Tremsetter is on all the way... and you can feel it all the time.

Its a personal preference.. feel first then you loose techniques like flutter. It makes the trem stiff. And even though tuning is stablised, its not totally stabilised.

And I am for a fully floasting trem. :)

In anycase, on jemsite, do a search for Ibanez Backstop. A cool device, not available anymore (on ebay, its 100USD) but the subsititute is the ESP Arming Adjuster (search on jemsite).

Pretty cheap that ESP Arming Adjuster.

I have one in mine. It makes doublestop bends easier but kinda makes the bridge a bit stiffer, especially on the down bend.

Very hard to find in local shops. I hunted every single shop in singapore and nobody even knew what it was. Then I emailed Swee Lee and one guy finally replied saying that he had ONE piece. So I went down and got it from him, I think around $15 - $20. The rest of the sales personel there have not even heard of such a thing.

Ahhh...thanks for the enligtenment guys...Would most probably try em...but it cost abt S$80.00 incl. shipping.

Blueark..u sure are lucky..
