I dunno man... that tone actually sounds pretty flat and lifeless. It COULD be the mix... Or that irritating vocal laid over it...

Sounds like a simple PAF Pro would work for you.

hi bro !! I am not really big fan of A7x, but as I knew, the lead guitarist, he is using Seymour Duncan SH-8 Custom Shop Invader pickups in his guitars and also a sustainic pickup in the neck. He uses Drop D tuning most of the time. If you are looking the sound similar, I think beside with the pups, you can try line6 POD, because it can mod with mesa boogie head and cabinet or Marshall as in his gear; and you also can find most of the high gain pedals for metal playing. It is just my idea when I tried to make sound like Limp and Linkin. Check it out his gear, I copy from internet :D. Enjoy !!

You can have all his gear but you still wouldnt sound exactly like him, you may have his pickups, but you guitar might be different, in terms of wood and such, and plus tone is in the fingers.

sorry to stray of the topic.

Anyway regarding the tone, it sounds compressed so MAYBE a compressor might help

well, according to silverhand, he uses a sustaining pickup, which helps him to sustain his notes really well. my guess is a fernandes sustaining system, which itself is a pickup and a nifty piece of gadget for a guitar.

trying looking it up. i may be VERY wrong though, but i just wanna help! =D

synyster gates? fernandes sustainer? o_O as far as I know he uses an SH-8 in both the bridge and the neck, but I highly recommend you don't do that, unless you're planning to play a7x all the time. invaders are hardly versatile, and you'll probably kill your cleans.

If you've already bought the dimebucker, try the dimarzio air norton or dimarzio evolution neck pickups, I use the evolution and it gets a great solo tone.
