Help! Strings Strings Strings

We can't do without them, STRINGS! So what's the better guage to use? Of course it comes down to personal preference. I'm a user for the 0.9's loading into my ibanez PGM3 and have 0.9's loading into my strat as well. Weird difference is that i get a softer feel when its loaded into my strat compared to an ibanez. Same Strings, Same Tuning but different string feel. Is this normal? Any tips on how i can get a softer feel to my strings on my ibanez?

I have not tried any 0.8's yet. Does using 0.8's give you a softer feel to the strings? Does string guage compromise the difference in sound?

Sorry for the long list of questions. Would appreciate it if i can get some feedback on this issue.

String gauge compromises sound, definitely, I'll only use gauges 11-52 and up, cus they sound positively explosive
