I bought my guitar quite a few months back. Its the ltd beginners pack which comes with a shitty esp 10 watt? I cant wait to sell it or even throw it away... After much research, i have came to these 3 amps.
Roland Cube 15x (due to price)
VOX VT30
Line 6 Spider IV 30 watt*

*But from my friends' experience, they both have line 6 spider. One has a line 6 spider III 120 watt and he does not reccommend me to buy line 6 products coz he say they spoil very easily. And the other guy has a spider IV 15 watt and has sent it to repair in a month after purchase...

So i really need help and advise on which amp i should get.
Thanks :)

just because it now doesn't live up to your expectations, this has to happen? i understand your frustrations but our equipment should be respected. i still own a practice grade amp to check on my techniques- just because this amp isn't on par with its bigger borthers, it's no reason for me to be sloppy when i play.

what do you wish to achieve with your next amp? great inherent tone? a good basis for pedal utilization? maybe you can tell us?

Hmmmmm to be honest, i don't think any of the amps really fit the bill. If you really only want either of these 3, i'd go with the Line 6.

Well, i'm assuming your budget is around the price of those amps, so i'd suggest you invest in a good pedal instead. It won't sound that good through the amp but it should be an improvement and it might sound better than buying another amp of the same price. Just a thought, but if i were you i'd probably buy another amp anyway. Although you'd have to up your budget.

good distortion from the amp
i have a very small budget so i dun tink i can afford pedals...

The NUX Mighty 30x amp has great distortion for the money ($200)

High refers to pickups with high output, for example DiMarzio's X2N, while low refers to pickups with lower output, like the Air Classic. In this case, if your guitar has high output pickups, you'd plug it into the high in jack and vice versa. Why, i'm not sure, could be the high in jack is padded.

Are you getting a new amp just for the sake of an upgrade/getting it?

There really is nothing wrong with using a shitty amp because nowadays, shitty amps have got quite acceptable drive channels. Unless you are able to differentiate the magic word, tone lah.... And if you want something that could "play metal or rock songs" then you should just get what the guy in the band is playing with.

Eh seriously, this little amp you got there is way better than mine some time back and I managed to live with it for several months.

Oh and if you don't have the budget, aka no money, just concentrate on skills lar har? lol.

In my opinion... if you buy another 10-watt solid-state practice amp, it's not much of an upgrade. Most of them won't have good distortion tones because of the small speaker and lack of tubes to 'warm' the sound. In fact, I don't know if they even have enough gain. I'd go with the Line 6 because of its modelling technology, allowing it to have a wide range of tones and effects. It may not produce the best rock and metal tones, but it can get much closer than a typical 10-watt solid-state amp.

I don't know about the Line 6 amps in terms of reliability, but I'd vouch for Line 6 in general. Probably my favourite guitar equipment company at present. My Line 6 multi-effects is very well made and has not given me any problems over the past few years I've been using it.

^^ +1 to Line 6 effects, my PodXT Live has been in regular use since 2006 and its not had any problems at all. I've even dropped it from waist level a coupla times due to my clumsiness.
