hello. i am very interested in making electronic rock music . i am looking into a microkorg for the synths and wicked sounds. but what about the beat and rythms?
software beat generators like the emu or fruityloops could be manipulated thru the computer and midi keys. would i be able to use the microkorg as a midi controller with electronic beat making softwares? but these softwares cost a bomb.
i would only want to use a multitrack software sequencer arranger/recorder Cubase , cakewalk sonar or albeton live to arrange the recorded music ive created.
would using the hardware route like making use of a hardware sampler to make beats be better for my preferences in terms of cost?
please do offer me some ideas to make a right decision on buying the correct equipment for me to get started on my sonic quest to make trippy beat music like thom yorke's the eraser and portishead's dreamy ambient samples and beats.
peace.
