help on buying beginners guitar

Hey guys,

I need help buying a guitar!

Looking for a reasonable priced guitar (anything below 800). Im new to this guitar thing, got myself a jackson stars months ago but thought i was leaving for overseas as intake starts on september, so i sold it off and blew all my money i got from it. next thing you know, PLANS CHANGED!

Im really into metal, and want something simple i could start with.
Perhaps an Ibanex RG or S series. Axl Guitars. Jackson. ESP/LTD.

Would you recommend me any shops i could look at? besides sweelee. Any guitar you would recommend(any brands)? and maybe a hint of the price?

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Check out LTD guitars at Davis. Superb for metal and even the lowest end ones are impressive. Prices range from $300+ for the lowest-end to $1K+ for the highest-end.

but im into guitars which have shapes similar to rg's! :) does ltd do any of em?

You could buy a superstrat or a strat and do the camo but requires alot of masking and spray painting..you also got to take the guitar apart lol
 
how about ibanez rg350m?

looks good and sounds good if u change the pups. within ur budget too.

i jus don seem to like pickguards, and the yellowish spongebob colour of it!

i saw this jackson stars on e buy sell post http://soft.com.sg/forum/guitar-buy-sell/146534-fs-jackson-stars-dk-bn02.html#post968786 and was wondering is it worth the price? cos i had a jackson stars kn02 with emgs in perfect condition before as i said, and its around 200000 yen which i sold for 1.1k with amp and this guitar is 99000 yen according to the website and seller is asking for 970 with amp. No offence to the seller! Jus getting thoughts from ppl. is it worth the price? i am really keen on it.

reason i sold my jackson is because i thought i was moving overseas and somehow i don like the position of playing a v after trying my friends rg!

Willie Adler uses an Eclipse Shape, the closest thing to it would be... The EC- Series of LTD's.

For RG shapes... the H,M,MH,and the MH-NT are the closest :).

Suggest you go try it out, and if possible, bring your parents.

P.S: The EC-50, 2nd from the lowest grade one, is about SGD325 if i'm not wrong :)

Well, ive got myself an esp ltd WA-200 today. its the lowest range of willie adlers model.

I was so lucky to get it, i called in ytd (not only me, i was told 3 ppl called in e same day aswell) and they told me no stock. if i were to order it, it would take 4 months(according to em). So i popped down to the shop as i was reli itching for a guitar. i went in and ask em, they say no stock. so i was like dam. checked out other guitars and found the model dat i wan on the display by the door hiding behind some guitars! LOL its meant to be with me, fated to be together i guess! hahahaha

I can't find any info on the WA-20, though. Do you mean the WA-200? It's the lowest end of the three Willie Adler models.

i will, but im already thinking of getting emg81/85 for my guitar and will be getting pod farm ux1 tomorrow! wheeeeeee. cant wait!

im gonna use my altec lansing comp amp until i can afford a mesa boogie!
