hello people!
i need help buying a new bass got a budget of 800bucks (incusive of purchase of guitar bags, straps so on.)

so i will be left with bout 740 for a bass.

i got a few choice though..
Yamaha RBX 374, Epiphone Thunderbird, OLP MM Stingray.

i have tried all of it, it seems all suit the music i play.

i play funk, rock and a bit of metal..

i wanto know which is better??

or

is there any recommendations?alternative?

thank you.

I'll can think of the following:

1. Ibanez BTB series
2. Yamaha BB series
3. Rockbass by Warwick
4. MTD Kingston series
5. Spector
6. OLP
7. Scheter Stiletto series

I personally like the Ibanez BTB series because of the 18 volt preamp and 3 band eq (with a stacked mid freq knob). It also comes with quilted maple top, 24 frets, elixer strings, tilted headstock, neutrik locking system for 1/4" jack, double humbuckers, well balanced design... definitely value for money for the mentioned specs.

OLP MM2 isn't a 'Stingray' per se, even the pickup is wired differently but the current starter pack available @ Davis is simply value-for $$$...

ohh jus wanna keep it.
wanna have a alternative choice..

i thought of the Tony Levin olp bass but many of my fren is no good?

Hi Dennis,

The price range for rockbass, schecter and spector (korean) is around your budget range.
Of course must look at the lower range ones.

Alternatively, you can get a rather good second hand bass if u dun mind second hand stuff.

WAH TIM!!!! THEY BROUGHT IN THE ZEPHYRS ALREADY AH!!?!?!?!? .. man .. i've been waiting for super long time to get my hands on those basses .. going to give them a try soon man ..

yeah but only the rosewood ones. tried it, the top looks a bit fake to me. looked better in the pics... neck is sort of a mix of soundgear and jbass. really versatile with a good slap tone but i found it to lack bass. too modern for my tastes but i think you should like it.
